So sorry – Saturday morning at 7:30 – 8:00 am and until I have no idea, Squarespace servers seem to have gone kerflooey! If you are looking for the link to my Amazon Associates page – remember half of all proceeds go to Cross International, it’s:

Why we double up on Squarespace

•September 28, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Someone emailed me yesterday to ask why I have a site here and a site on Squarespace.  Well, first of all, I’m 11, ok.  11 year olds don’t really have a rhyme or a reason.  But if you must know, I like both WordPress and Squarespace for totally different reasons.  WordPress is great because it clearly tells me where my visitors come from, and I think more peeps find me here through search engines like google and yahoo.  That’s a good thing.  I also think WordPress has some cool widgets.  The challenge I have with WordPress – I tried setting up my own site using WordPress, and it was just too complicated for me.  Remember, I’m a kid, and I’m not one of those boy geniuses who started their own internet company when they were like, 12.  I fish, and I go to school.  And then I fish some more.  Maybe some day when I’m older, I’ll get better at this computer stuff but for right now, I like sites like WordPress and Squarespace for their simplicity.  They are both easy for me to use, but in different ways.

Now, I host my main site on Squarespace because it was easier for me to understand how to register my own domain there, and then to put up lots of links and ads and use my amazon associates account and a bunch of other cool stuff.  Plus, I like the layout features and the templates better.  Again, just easier for me to use.  Oh, and my site just looks cooler there.  Like a real website, yanno.

I’ll still use WordPress, particularly so more people can find my stuff.  I do like WordPress.  I just like Squarespace better, for now.  I’ll keep trying both and every now and then, I’ll give you updates of what I think of them side by side.  You can check out the Squarespace side of my website here:

And in the mean time, keep fishing, because first and foremost, that’s the most important!

We’re Now on Squarespace yo

•August 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment

OK so check out our new version of this webspace over on Squarespace.  It’s a little bit easier for youngins like us to use and has equally cool features as WordPress.  We’re still showin’ the love for WordPress and mean no disrespect yo… but I’m 11 you know, and I need total simplicity.

Over there on Squarespace, you can participate in our discussion boards, buy your fishing equipment, share your stories and pictures, and get a really cool look at what we have going on.

So without further ado:

And eventually we hope, our website will just be called sickfishing without the squarespace part.  We’re getting there :)

A Shout Out to Camp Arrowhead

•August 8, 2009 • 1 Comment

I’m on my way out to do some deep sea fishing and bay fishing at the Jersey Shore.  Hoping to get some flounder and maybe do some night crabbing.  I’ll write more about that later.

I promised my new friends at Camp Arrowhead I would give them a shout out, so here goes.  I had an awesome 2 weeks with you guys.  I especially loved the high ropes, the rock climb, the zipline, and the rope swing.  Oh, and the archery.  I’ll be back next summer for sure and will hopefully bring my little brother Ryan with me!  Remember to keep in touch during the school year.  You can always reach me right here.  I’ll be thinking of you all.. and of riblets mmmmmm!

I’m Blaise, and I fish.

I’m Blaise, and I fish.

My uncles taught me how to fish before I could walk.  When my younger brother Ryan came along, we taught him to fish too.  Now I fish with my brother and my uncles and my pop and really, anyone who likes to fish.

I’ve caught a lot of fish.  Pike, carp, smallies, catfish, bass, sunnies, flounder, steelhead, walleye, salmon, trout.  You get the idea.  Oh yeah.  Snakeheads too.

I thought maybe I could put my fishing stories here.  Oh, I have to share with my brother, so you know.  You’ll hear from him too.  I’m really hoping that you’ll help me by putting some of your stories and pictures and links into my comments sections under my posts.

Here’s a slideshow of the sickest fishing of my life.  I spent one week fishing in Canada this past June with my two uncles, my Pop, and my kid brother Ryan.  Look out for my Uncle Dan – He’s  known for his sick fishing.  And my Uncle Jim.  He plays guitar.

Oh yeah, I’m 11.
